Most businesses in Waterloo Region want to do the right thing for the environment — but unlike at home, there's no easy way to compost at the office. Until now.
Kitchener Clean launched the Office Compost Program in 2018 because we kept seeing large volumes of organic waste — food scraps, coffee grounds, paper towels — going straight to landfill from the offices we cleaned. We knew there had to be a better way.
We're proud to be Waterloo Region's first and only dedicated office food waste pickup service, helping businesses in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and surrounding communities divert organic waste from landfill — simply and affordably.
How it works:
Sign up and we supply your green bin(s) — set up and ready to use.
Your team composts just like at home: food scraps, coffee grounds, tea bags, paper towels, and more.
We collect your filled bin weekly or twice weekly, replace it with a freshly cleaned and sanitized bin, weigh your waste, and send you a quarterly impact report.

Once your office sign ups with the Kitchener Clean Office Composting Program, we will supply you with your green bin(s).

We will send a Team Member to collect your green bin once a week or twice a week, depending on your specific schedule.

We weigh your green bin and send the organic waste to a composting site. We also send you a report every three months showing you how much waste you’ve diverted from the landfill, and you can see how much you have impacted the environment in a positive way.
