Kitchener Clean was founded in 2009 by Derrick Carroll — a Kitchener entrepreneur who believed that professional office cleaning deserved the same standard of care as any other professional service. Starting with just house cleaning, the business grew steadily into one of Waterloo Region's most trusted commercial cleaning companies, serving offices, warehouses, medical facilities, tech companies, and industrial spaces across the region.
Today, Kitchener Clean offers a full suite of commercial cleaning solutions — from daily janitorial services and deep cleaning to carpet steam cleaning, floor care, germ protection, and the region's only Office Compost Program. Every service is delivered by WHMIS-certified, background-checked team members using eco-certified cleaning products.

2009
The Founding Years
Derrick Carroll founded Kitchener Clean as a residential house cleaning service right here in Kitchener, Ontario. Starting with just himself and two team members, Derrick's philosophy was simple: treat every client's home like your own. Within six years, Kitchener Clean had grown to serve 64 residential clients with a team of eight — a testament to the quality and consistency that would define the company for years to come.

The First Office Cleaning Client
Kitchener Clean welcomed its very first commercial office cleaning client — a pivotal moment that would eventually redirect the entire company's focus. From this point, Derrick began personally managing office cleaning accounts in the evenings and on weekends while the team continued serving residential clients during the day.

Tori Joins the Business
Tori Savage joined Kitchener Clean as co-owner, bringing her expertise in customer care and operations. Together, Derrick and Tori built a shared vision: to become Waterloo Region's most trusted commercial cleaning company by never compromising on quality, reliability, or integrity.

Full Focus on Commercial Cleaning
After careful consideration, Derrick and Tori made the strategic decision to transition Kitchener Clean exclusively to commercial and office cleaning. Every residential client was personally transitioned to a new provider before Kitchener Clean shifted its full focus to serving Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge businesses.

2018
The Office Compost Program Is Born
After years of witnessing large volumes of organic waste being thrown into garbage bins in our clients' offices — destined for Waterloo Region landfills — Kitchener Clean launched the Office Compost Program. This made Kitchener Clean the first commercial cleaning company in the Waterloo Region to offer dedicated office food waste collection. The program serves businesses across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, and has since diverted over 28,000 lbs of organic waste from landfill. Learn more at officecomposting.ca.

Derrick Carroll founded Kitchener Clean in 2009 after a career spanning accounting, computer sales, and entrepreneurship. His philosophy has always been the same: office cleaning is a professional service, and it deserves to be delivered with the same standards as any other profession — clear communication, consistent quality, and accountability to the client.
Under Derrick's leadership, Kitchener Clean has grown from a one-person house cleaning operation to Waterloo Region's most trusted commercial cleaning company — and the only cleaning company in the region to operate its own Office Compost Program. Derrick is also a proud Living Wage employer, committed to ensuring that Kitchener Clean's team members are paid fairly for their work.

Tori joined Kitchener Clean in 2014, bringing with her a background in business operations and client care. As co-owner, Tori oversees the day-to-day operations of both Kitchener Clean and the Office Compost Program, ensuring that every client receives the consistent, high-quality service they signed up for.
Tori's belief is simple: a clean office is a productive office — and a company that treats its employees well produces better results for its clients. That philosophy shapes everything Kitchener Clean does.

A Cambridge, Ontario native with 20+ years in customer service and human resources, Tiffany ensures that every client interaction — from the first quote to the hundredth cleaning visit — is handled with professionalism, warmth, and prompt follow-through. She is your first call when you need something, and the person who makes sure it gets done right.
